How to use the HEX to RGB
Enter any hex color
Type a hex color code into the field — with or without the # symbol. Both 3-digit (#fff) and 6-digit (#ffffff) hex codes are accepted. You can also click the color picker square to select a color visually. The preview updates instantly and all output formats are recalculated.
Copy any format
Each output row has its own Copy button so you can grab exactly the format you need — RGB for CSS, HSL for easier manipulation in design tools, or CMYK for print. "Copy CSS" at the top copies the complete CSS color declaration ready to paste into your stylesheet.
Tints and shades
The tints and shades panel shows 10 lighter and 10 darker variants of your color — useful for creating a design system palette. Click any swatch to load that color and see all its values. Each swatch shows its hex code on hover.
Hex colour notation comes from the 8-bit RGB display standard of early Macs and PCs (1980s) — 256 levels per channel (00-FF), three channels, six hex digits. That gives 16,777,216 colours, which the human eye can only distinguish about 10 million of.
